Job description

We're looking for an Data Engineer AI who thrives at the intersection of algorithms, data pipelines, and real-world problem solving. You'll make sure our platform runs on clean, consistent, and scalable data flows-while also developing innovative AI models that turn raw data into actionable insights. In short: you'll shape both the brain and the nervous system of Enersee's technology.

Why this role matters

Buildings account for 40% of global energy use and one-third of greenhouse gas emissions. That's a massive challenge-and an even bigger opportunity.

To solve it, Enersee combines AI intelligence with solid data engineering. Your work will make sure data from thousands of buildings flows smoothly, reliably, and at scale-while also training and deploying models that make our AI smarter and our impact greater.

What you'll do

  • Analyze large time series datasets (energy & water) to identify patterns and trends.
  • Develop and implement advanced ML algorithms and models.
  • Build new time series and metadata connectors as part of product development.
  • Maintain and optimize existing data pipelines for quality and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues-data quality, structure, or flow-and solve them quickly.
  • Actively source new data streams and integrate them into our platform.
  • Collaborate with partners, integrators, and customers to get integrations live and smooth.
  • Work closely with developers to refine UX and translate client needs into AI models.

Requirements

  • AI expertise: extensive knowledge of AI/ML and statistical modeling.
  • Data expertise: deep understanding of time series data & metadata, including validation and edge cases.
  • Python skills: strong backend coding skills, with experience in Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, and frameworks like Flask.
  • Track record: proven success in implementing AI models and data pipelines in production.
  • Practical mindset: you turn theory into solutions that work-scaling connectors, solving tricky issues, improving quality.
  • Bias for action: you don't wait for perfect plans, you start solving.
  • Communication: clear, professional, and comfortable bridging business and tech with external stakeholders.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with large-scale time series pipelines (IoT, energy, monitoring).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) or data platforms.
  • A track record of improving data quality in production systems.

Don't check every box?

Smart people don't always follow straight lines. If you believe in what we're doing and think you can help us grow, we want to hear from you.

Benefits & conditions

  • Competitive gross base salary depending on your experience
  • Performance bonus (up to €25K/year)
  • Stock options-you grow, we grow
  • 13th month salary + double vacation pay
  • Company car (worth €35-50K) or mobility budget + extra salary
  • Meal vouchers (€8/day) + Eco vouchers (€250/year)
  • Charging card for your EV (also usable privately)
  • Hospital insurance for you (free) + discounts for family
  • Laptop + smartphone, incl. €30/month for phone & internet
  • Energetic offices in Brussels and Antwerp + hybrid work flexibility
  • Fun events, team activities, and milestones worth celebrating

FYI - We are growing fast, which is asking for a little more face 2 face interaction to also move fast.

Our work setting is hybrid, and our tech team works a lot from the office in Brussels. So yes, you can of course also take some days to focus from home, but we can't have you working fully remote for now.
