Job description

This role is part of an ERP Transformation Programme, migrating from SAP on-premise HCM to Oracle Fusion Cloud. The HCM Core Functional Consultant is accountable for Core HR functional design, data migration assurance, testing leadership, and business readiness.Organizational ContextThe role operates in a complex regulated environment, supporting a diverse workforce and statutory requirements. It works closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, the System Integrator, and programme governance to ensure Oracle Fusion Core HR supports compliant, standardised, and sustainable HR operations.Role PurposeTo lead the translation of SAP HCM Core HR into Oracle Fusion Core HR, ensuring simplified hire-to-retire processes, clean and GDPR-compliant HR data migration, effective UAT, proactive risk management, and high adoption.Key ResponsibilitiesFunctional Design & Process Translation* Lead Core HR design across the full hire-to-retire lifecycle

  • Translate SAP PA/OM processes into Oracle Fusion Core HR best-practice designs
  • Challenge legacy SAP customisation and organization-specific workarounds
  • Design Oracle-standard worker, assignment, job, grade, position, and organisation structures
  • Act as Core HR Design Authority

Data Migration & Data Quality* Define HR data migration scope (migrate vs archive vs retain read-only)

  • Own HR data migration rules for workers, hierarchies, and absence balances
  • Support HR data cleansing prior to System Integrator mobilisation
  • Validate migrated HR data and support reconciliation
  • Ensure GDPR compliance and data minimisation principles

Risk Management & Governance* Identify and manage HCM functional, data, and adoption risks

  • Maintain an HCM risk register with mitigation actions
  • Escalate risks impacting Payroll accuracy, security, or statutory obligations
  • Support Design Authority and SteerCo decision making

Testing, UAT & Payroll Dependency* Define HR test scenarios covering end-to-end employee lifecycle

  • Support SIT and lead HR involvement in UAT
  • Ensure HR design supports Payroll parallel runs
  • Support defect triage and prioritisation

Cutover, Go-Live & Hypercare* Support HR cutover planning and sequencing

  • Validate HR readiness for go-live
  • Provide HR Core support during hypercare and stabilisation

Requirements

  • Strong SAP HCM (PA/OM) background
  • Oracle Fusion Core HR functional design expertise
