Job description
As a Senior Gameplay Programmer, you'll provide hands-on technical expertise and mentorship, designing, implementing, and maintaining gameplay systems for both single-player and multiplayer experiences. You'll write clean, scalable code, improve existing systems, and debug issues to ensure performance, reliability, and high-quality player experiences.
Working closely with design, art, and engineering, you'll help set the technical direction of gameplay, mitigate risks, and tackle complex challenges. You'll mentor junior team members, drive engineering excellence, and take ownership of delivering polished, responsive, and world-class gameplay systems in Unreal Engine 5.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and hands-on development for the gameplay team.
Design, implement, and maintain gameplay systems for both single-player and multiplayer experiences. * Write clean, efficient, and maintainable gameplay code, including improvements to pre-existing systems.
- Debug and resolve issues across gameplay systems to ensure stability, performance, and player experience.
Review and approve technical designs and code from the team, ensuring scalability and maintainability. * Ensure the gameplay team delivers features on time and to high-quality standards. * Identify and mitigate risks in gameplay systems development. * Collaborate across disciplines to align on gameplay delivery and quality. * Mentor and support team members, fostering growth and a high-performing engineering culture.

Requirements
Do you have experience in Unreal Engine?, RENNSPORT is building the next-generation sim-racing experience from the ground up. We are creating a proprietary IP that will set new standards in digital motorsport. We're now growing our gameplay programming team and looking for a skilled developer who values writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code and who wants to support those around them., * Proven experience as a Senior or Principal Gameplay Programmer on shipped PC or console titles. * Experience in C++ and a solid understanding of software architecture principles. * Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, mathematics, and performance optimization. * Experience conducting technical reviews and upholding engineering standards. * Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence across disciplines. * Analytical and solution-oriented approach to complex technical challenges.
Nice 2 Have * Deep understanding of gameplay systems within modern game engines, ideally Unreal Engine 4/5. * Experience working on racing, simulation, or physics-heavy titles. * Strong understanding of modern rendering pipelines and performance tuning. * Expertise in concurrency and parallelization strategies. * Passion for motorsport and sim-racing.
