Job description

We're looking for a hands-off Engineering Manager to lead the Mobile team and help people do their best work. You'll report to the Engineering Director. You will be working very closely with the team's Product Management, together you will build great user experiences and ship features smoothly and predictably. For this reason, we are looking for an EM with high product sensitivity.

You'll lead the Mobile team, responsible for our mobile app and VMkey development. This team is expected to be a key driver of the company's growth over the next years.

The team is currently split into two sub-teams: one focused on software, and another on hardware and firmware, where we're designing a new generation of audio devices unlike anything on the market.

What you'll do

Your time will be dedicated to your team management role, in which you will:

  • Ensure the team delivers value by:
  • Understand product scope and team capacity to ensure execution and delivery.
  • In collaboration with the Product Manager, drive the definition of Quarterly Objectives for the product and team, looking for consensus within the team and with the Leadership Team. Propose, define, track and report key results and KPIs.
  • Plan around dependencies and ensure predictable delivery. Resolve blockers and prevent future issues by basing your decisions on a deep understanding of technology.
  • Identify and manage risks, working with teams to implement mitigations.
  • Ensure tech debt is properly pushed within the team.
  • Improve the performance of the team:
  • improving team processes like speeding code merge reviews or task definitions and refinement.
  • Improve your team's automations and CI pipelines so they don't have to focus on repetitive or low-value tasks.
  • Push strategic improvements in your team to elevate the company to the next level.
  • Take care of the team's motivation and engagement
  • Helping the team member to understand the expectations, and
  • helping them to improve at a constant rate
  • Support team members' development by setting goals, creating plans, and helping them succeed.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software development?, * Proficient English Level (C1).

  • +3 years leading teams and experience working with remote teams.
  • Strong track record of managing technical projects using Agile methodologies.
  • Good understanding of business and user behaviour metrics and digital product definition processes
  • Extensive experience in mobile software development and marketplaces.
  • Experience planning, configuring and maintaining CI pipelines.
  • Understanding and experience building unit, integration and E2E tests.

Nice to Have

  • Past experience as tech lead or software architect.
  • Experience working with Kotlin, or even better KMM.
  • Experience working with hardware projects.
  • Knowledge and experience working with SonarQube to ensure code quality and security.
  • Passion for audio, music, recording or sound in any shape or (wave)form.
  • Experience managing remote or partially remote teams.
  • Previous experience in a startup environment.
