Job description

Leicester College is seeking to appoint an exceptional Director of IT to provide strategic leadership for the College's IT function. This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Deputy Principal of Finance and Corporate Services, with responsibility for shaping and delivering a secure, innovative, and future-focused digital strategy. Technology is central to the College's teaching, learning, and business operations. The Director of IT will play a pivotal role in ensuring our IT infrastructure, systems, and services are robust, resilient, and aligned with the College's strategic objectives., The Director of IT is the College's senior IT specialist and strategic lead for technology, digital risk, and innovation. The postholder will:

  • Lead the development and delivery of the College's IT and digital strategies
  • Provide expert advice to the Executive Leadership Team and Corporation
  • Ensure the security, integrity, and resilience of IT systems and data
  • Drive digital transformation and major systems initiatives
  • Oversee IT infrastructure, architecture, and cybersecurity
  • Lead high-performing, multidisciplinary IT teams
  • Manage significant IT budgets, procurement, and supplier relationships
  • Promote digital capability and confidence across the College

The role carries accountability for IT operations, cyber security, data integrity, reporting systems, and service excellence, ensuring technology effectively supports staff and learners., We are one of the largest Further Education Colleges in the UK with 12,000 students studying with us in the 2024 - 2025 academic year, on a wide range of courses. Requirements

Do you have experience in Procurement?, We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative leader with strong technical expertise and strategic insight. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience of developing and delivering IT strategies
  • Experience in a complex organisation of comparable scale
  • Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills
  • A track record of leading digital transformation or major systems programmes
  • Experience managing IT budgets, procurement, and contracts
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and team leadership capability
  • The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline or significant senior level IT leadership experience.
