Job description
- Infrastructure Management: Support and enhance a large server estate running on a mix of VMWare, physical servers, and Cloud technologies.
- Deployment & Configuration: Manage deployments (including building new clusters), perform hardware configuration (Dell servers, racks, cabling), and handle storage management (LVM, RAID).
- Automation: Create and maintain automated builds and patching for OS and middleware using scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
- Maintenance: Perform routine performance tuning, maintenance, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve problems found during testing or production.
- Documentation: Utilise good writing skills to document procedures and build aspects.
Requirements
- Operating Systems: Strong experience with Red Hat Linux (v6 or 7) and/or Windows Server.
- Cloud & Virtualisation: Knowledge of AWS (EC2, S3, CloudWatch), VMWare, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Scripting & DevOps: Shell scripting experience in Linux/UNIX environments and familiarity with GitLab.
- Hardware & Storage: Experience with physical infrastructure (Dell servers, BIOS, iDRAC), and storage systems (file systems, volume management).
- Microsoft Stack: Familiarity with Microsoft System Center (SCOM/SCCM/SCSM) and SQL Server is highly advantageous.
