Ocean Infinity is seeking a Document Controller to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and accessibility of technical documentation across our vessels and payload systems. This role plays a critical part in maintaining configuration control, supporting quality compliance, and enabling operational readiness. You will work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure documentation is structured, traceable, and aligned with ISO standards in complex, high-integrity marine environments. This position sits at the intersection of engineering, quality assurance, and operations, requiring strong organisational discipline and attention to detail. What will you do:
- Carefully curate and update changes to vessel configurations, ensuring documentation remains accurate and traceable.
- Upload, collate, and maintain all technical documentation within a central, accessible repository.
- Ensure all technical documentation, including 2D and 3D outputs, is presented in an ISO9001 compliant manner and to a consistently high standard.
- Support ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 compliance activities in collaboration with the Head of Engineering Quality.
- Assist the Product Data Controller with the curation and upkeep of SolidWorks PDM, maintaining configuration control and data integrity.
- Work with the Quality Engineer and Principal Process Engineer to ensure ECRs, NCRs, and OFIs are captured, tracked, and actioned efficiently.
- Support vessel and marine system readiness by ensuring accurate and complete documentation is available to operational teams.
- Work closely with the Payload and Mobilisation team to ensure the correct documentation is accessible for efficient fleet mobilisation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of document control processes, templates, and workflows to enhance efficiency and data integrity.
- Provide specialist engineering documentation support to operations as required.
- Use Microsoft Office tools confidently to manage, format, and control documentation outputs.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience working at a data management level, within an engineering or technical environment, with demonstrable responsibility for controlled management of engineering and technical data, document lifecycle governance, configuration control, and data integrity
- Experience supporting engineering, quality, and operational stakeholders through accurate, timely, and compliant information management
- ISO 9001 document control, configuration management, and audit readiness
ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements as they relate to engineering, technical, and operational documentation
- Skilled in supporting internal and external audits through accurate, traceable, and controlled documentation
Desirable:
- Certified SolidWorks Professional.
- High level of proficiency in SolidWorks PDM and product data management processes.
- Experience working within high integrity engineering sectors such as automotive, aerospace, marine, or defence.
