IT Support Engineer 2nd and 3rd line - Coventry - Some client site work - £35,000 - £40,000 (DOE), access to company vehicle for site visits., * To be an effective point of contact for the provision of IT Support as part of an existing team of helpful and skilled support engineers. Providing helpdesk support and customer site attendance as necessary. Resolving issues and completing calls or liaising with senior team members to escalate as appropriate.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal communication are needed for this support position.
- Installing and configuring Computer hardware, servers, pcs, software, systems.
- Ensure IT support projects are delivered and installed within the timescales set.
- Pre-sales support for Sales colleagues, communicating with new & existing customers.
- Carrying out site surveys and creating technical documentation.
- End-to-end project delivery, providing pre-sales support, investigating the requirement, liaising with manufacturers and suppliers, preparing proposals, and presenting the recommendation to your line manager. Where the proposal is accepted by the client, you will be required to process the order, delivery, implementation, and completion. You will be required to take the lead with support project-related work.
- To contribute to the development and implementation of IT plans to enable IT support growth of the business whilst improving efficiency and effectiveness of the systems.
- Identify areas for improvement in the IT service and suggest enhancements.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Virtualization?, The ideal candidate will have experience working in a 2nd/3rd line support role, with strong communication skills and the ability to provide a calm and clear ,focused approach to the delivery of a fast, efficient, and reliable IT support service, from start to end.
Developing excellent customer and colleague relationships and possess the drive to always exceed customer expectations., Networking: Design and implementation of corporate networks including, VLAN's, WAN's and Wi-Fi access points
Microsoft 365 : Design and implementation of Azure and Microsoft 365 solutions including Exchange online, SharePoint, AD, Intune, hybrid solutions, MDM and security controls. On-premise Migration to MS 365 platform.
Server : Installation, Maintenance, Upgrades & Migration
Backup : Installation and support of cloud and on-premise backup solutions
Hardware: Pcs, laptops, device build, installation
Internet: Routers, firewall configuration, user VPN's, and Site to Site VPN's
Interpersonal : Proactive, Confident in dealing with customers over the telephone and face-to-face, Initiative, Customer-focused Approach.
Requirements:
- Microsoft 365 support and administration. Migration of services to the Microsoft 365 platform (eg Azure, AD, email and SharePoint migration)
- Microsoft EM&S / InTune and associated infrastructure deployment and administration
- Previous MSP experience essential (Substantial experience in a service desk/field engineering role).
- Microsoft: strong windows 11 and server skills, confident with all aspects of MS 365 and Azure.
- Networking: solid grasp of LAN's , VLAN's, routing, VPN's , DNS, traffic management
- Virtualisation: Hyper V or equivalent.
- Microsoft Exchange (support, administration)
- Communication: Clear, friendly, concise, written and verbal.
- Customer focus: caring about the delivery of the highest quality of service.
- Driving: full UK driving license (access to a reliable car is a benefit.) A company Pool vehicle will be available for use to Customer site visits
