The Role

You'll be joining a team of performance marketers, SEO specialists and designers who will work closely with you on every project. You'll have clear direction on strategy, SEO requirements, CRO priorities and creative, you won't be left guessing what "good" looks like.

You'll need to be confident working autonomously. You should be comfortable managing your own builds, structuring your workload and taking projects from concept through to launch without constant supervision.

  • Lead website builds from concept to launch
  • Manage and improve existing WordPress websites
  • Implement technical SEO from day one
  • Take ideas (client or internal) and turn them into working solutions
  • Contribute to smarter systems, automation and internal tools

You won't be operating in isolation, you'll have design and development support when needed, but you'll take ownership of technical delivery.

This is a builder role, not just maintenance.

Core Responsibilities are Website Builds & Management (Primary Focus)

  • Build and launch high-performance WordPress websites (PHP-based)
  • Support Shopify builds where required
  • Write clean, scalable and well-documented code
  • Manage hosting, staging and production environments
  • Handle integrations (CRMs, tracking systems, APIs, payments)
  • Optimise Core Web Vitals and overall performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently

Technical & Onsite SEO (Essential Part of the Role)

  • Implement schema and structured data
  • Manage redirects and URL structures
  • Support internal linking and site architecture improvements
  • Ensure crawlability and index optimisation
  • Implement technical recommendations from SEO audits
  • Contribute to programmatic SEO builds where required

You must understand how development decisions affect rankings, visibility and revenue.

Requirements

Do you have experience in WordPress?, * 3+ years commercial development experience

  • Strong experience with WordPress (PHP)

  • Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations
  • Confident managing hosting and deployments
  • Experience using Git/version control properly
  • Strong understanding of site speed and performance optimisation
  • Working knowledge of technical SEO best practices
  • Ability to take ownership from concept through to launch
