Job description
We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Applications Engineer to join a Central Government organisation on an initial 6-month contract. This role will focus heavily on database administration, maintenance, resilience, and recovery across multiple database platforms within a secure and highly regulated environment.
In terms of day to day, you can expect to work with the following:
Provide hands-on database administration across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL environments
Manage and optimise database performance, availability, and reliability
Design, implement, and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies across all platforms
Conduct regular restore testing and disaster recovery validation to ensure resilience and compliance
Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MySQL with proven experience designing and managing backup, recovery, and restore testing strategies. This role will also require an active SC clearance due to the nature of the work.
Based in Milton Keynes on site 1-2 days per week.
