Job description
As the Principal IT Owner for SERE, you will lead the strategy, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement of technology solutions supporting the company's Global Safety, Environment, and Real Estate functions. You will partner with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to ensure applications are secure, reliable, and aligned with enterprise objectives.
This role requires a strong understanding of SERE business processes across Global Security, Global Health & Safety, and Real Estate, along with the technical architecture that connects them. You will manage system interdependencies, optimize the overall ecosystem, and deliver stable, user-centric solutions.
You will provide technology leadership, drive cross-functional alignment, and oversee governance and innovation within the SERE domain to support an efficient and seamless employee experience.
What will you do?
- Lead the full lifecycle of SERE applications, including strategy, selection, implementation, maintenance, compliance, and retirement.
- Ensure a secure, stable, and compliant technology landscape, covering infrastructure, integrations, data flows, certifications (including Crown Jewel requirements), IT General Controls, SLAs, and audit readiness.
- Monitor and manage application performance and operations, including availability, incident response (P1/Cyber escalation), patching, disaster recovery, and proactive issue identification.
- Drive continuous improvement and optimization across the SERE ecosystem to enhance reliability, efficiency, user experience, and total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Maintain accurate and complete technical documentation, including end-to-end architecture, business processes, integrations, service maps, and CMDB data quality.
- Collaborate closely with business, IT, and digital stakeholders to understand requirements, align priorities, and deliver value-driven technology solutions.
- Manage cross-domain alignment and dependencies, coordinating with Data, Security, DTC, GTS, and other key partners to ensure ecosystem integrity.
- Oversee vendor and partner relationships, ensuring effective delivery, support, and performance across all providers involved in the application stack.
Requirements
- +8 years in IT roles with at least 4 years of experience in a Application Owner / IT Owner / Digital Product Owner roles
- Experience with Safety, Environment and Real Estate related IT applications is a plus
- Business Acumen: strong knowledge of the business processes supported by an application.
- Technology Acumen: expert knowledge of an app. functionality and underline technologies, emerging trends and industry best practices.
- IT Operations: expert knowledge of IT Operations (ITIL) including incident and change management.
- Strategic Planning and Execution: ability to develop and execute application evolution roadmap, aligned with business objectives and digital strategy.
- Leadership: leadership skills including communication, presentation, decision-making and team management.
- Stakeholder Management: strong interpersonal, collaboration, influencing, negotiation and change mgmt.
- Governance and Compliance: knowledge of the governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, policies and standards.
- Project and Program Management: proficiency.
- Financial Management: understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial implications of digital initiatives.
- Risk Management: Ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with an application, including cybersecurity and data privacy.
- Problem Solving: ability to analyze complex problems and make data-driven decisions to define and implement effective solutions.
- Vendor Management: experience in evaluating, selecting, and managing external vendors
