Job description

Analysis and Evaluation are a team tasked with developing insight and intelligence to inform commissioning decisions and other strategic work in CFLL. We collaborate closely with colleagues across a variety of areas, including Corporate Parenting, Education and SEND, Family Resilience, Domestic Abuse, Children with Disabilities, Young Carers, Early Years and more, using tools such as SQL, Tableau and FME to develop creative solutions to important data problems. No two days are the same - our work takes us to new and different challenges as we contribute to CFLL more effective and efficient in the use of its resources., As a Senior Analyst you will be a key member of our team, overseeing reporting in the following areas:

  • Children with Disabilities
  • Transitioning to Adulthood
  • Family Resilience / Young Carers
  • Domestic Abuse

The work you do will be both challenging and immensely valuable, contributing directly to improving our services for children, families and survivors of domestic abuse while maintaining financial sustainability. While reporting in some of these areas is well established, you will be required to query new data sources and develop new reports that support decision making by blending data from a variety of sources. In some of these spaces you will work collaboratively with colleagues outside of CFLL, giving you opportunities to grow your knowledge and skills in highly transferable ways.

Your ability to query, blend, and analyse data as well as present insights in engaging and interactive ways will be vital in shaping the future of our programs, especially as we engage with Local Government Reform and what it means for our services and our residents.

This role requires highly developed technical skills, which you will use not only for the development of your own work but to support other team members in developing data-driven solutions., 1. Provide an example of a complex data problem you've tackled and outline how you approached and resolved it.

  1. Tell us about a time when you advised on the development of a data pipeline, or flagged system-related risks.
  2. Analytical work means that sometimes we need to distil complex messages in simple terms. How have you approached this in the past?
  3. Describe a time when you provided technical support to your team and shared your knowledge to help others improve their skills or resolve challenges., Surrey County Council is undergoing Local Government Reorganisation, moving from a two-tier system to two new unitary councils in April 2027. If you are employed by Surrey on 1st April 2027, your role will transfer with current terms and conditions to one of the new organisations, supporting local devolution and greater powers for our communities.

Join our dynamic team and shape the future of local government. Make a lasting impact with innovative solutions and improved services for our community. Help us build a brighter future for our residents! Please see more information here: Information for applicants on Local Government Reorganisation - Surrey County Council
