AWS DevOps/Cloud Network Engineer
Location: Cambridge (1-2 days per week onsite) Contract: 6 months Initially, 2 Year Programme Rate: Competitive
We are seeking a highly capable AWS DevOps/Cloud Network Engineer with a strong hands-on networking background and multi-cloud experience across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
This role requires someone who started in network engineering, understands routing, segmentation, and hybrid connectivity in depth, and has evolved into cloud automation and DevOps practices.
You will be responsible for designing and automating secure, scalable cloud network infrastructure while embedding Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and automate cloud networking architecture across AWS (primary), Azure, and GCP
- Build and maintain reusable Terraform modules for networking and core infrastructure
- Implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments
- Support and automate hybrid connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, InterconnecT)
- Embed security and governance controls into cloud deployments
- Support containerised workloads (EKS/AKS/GKE)
- Improve reliability, observability, and operational resilience of cloud platforms
Required Experience
- Strong hands-on network engineering background (routing, Firewalls, segmentation, hybrid connectivity)
- Deep AWS experience (VPC, Transit Gateway, Route 53, IAM, EKS)
- Azure networking experience (VNets, ExpressRoute, NSGs)
- Working knowledge of Google Cloud networking (VPC, IAM, connectivity)
- Strong Terraform experience (modular design, remote state, environments)
- CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.)
- Docker and Kubernetes experience
- Experience working in multi-account/multi-environment setups
- Strong understanding of secure-by-design cloud architecture
Certifications (Required/Strongly Preferred)
- AWS Certification (Solutions Architect or Advanced Networking)
- Microsoft Azure Certification
- Exposure to or certification in Google Cloud
- Networking certifications highly desirable (CCNP/equivalent)

- Is comfortable discussing BGP, routing, segmentation and Firewalls
- Has transitioned into Infrastructure-as-Code and DevOps delivery
- Can work across multiple cloud platforms
- Is comfortable operating in enterprise-scale environments
