Grant Thornton is building a new digital team as part of the firm's £500m multi-year investment to transform how we work and deliver for clients. This investment is focused on redesigning our operating model around the way clients make decisions, using data, digital tools, and streamlined processes to remove friction, reduce duplication and provide faster, clearer insights. The new digital team will play a critical role in shaping and embedding these changes across the firm, developing tools, platforms, and digital capabilities that accelerate decision-making, improve the client experience, and empower our people to work smarter. A look into the role As a Data Engineer within our team practice, you will:
- Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure / Fabric Data Factory, PySpark, Microsoft Fabric Dataflows.
- Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources including from APIs, databases, and flat files into centralised data platforms.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Data Quality: Implement data validation, cleansing, and monitoring processes.
- Collaboration: Work with Data Architects and Analysts to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality datasets.
- Documentation: Maintain technical documentation for data pipelines, workflows, and data dictionaries.
Knowing you're right for us Joining us as a Data Engineer, the minimum criteria you'll need is:
- Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, Microsoft Fabric and Databricks technologies.
- Strong SQL and Python skills for data transformation and scripting.
It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don't worry if you don't tick every box, we'll help you develop along the way.
- Experience with data lake architecture and Delta Lake.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and DevOps for data engineering.
