Job description

On behalf of our client, a pioneer in medical technology, we are looking for a Data Scientist for the Advanced Analytics department. This role focuses on developing predictive modeling and personalization solutions using large-scale, regulated datasets generated by ultrasound consoles. You will apply advanced statistical analysis and machine learning to drive product intelligence and optimize system performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Model Development: Advance predictive models and personalization solutions using state-of-the-art ML techniques.
  • Data Insights: Perform in-depth exploratory and statistical modeling on system-generated data to identify actionable insights.
  • Validation: Build, evaluate, and validate models using rigorous performance metrics and experimentation frameworks.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering and product teams to support model integration into production platforms.
  • Reporting: Communicate complex analytical findings and model limitations through clear visualizations and documentation.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor model health over time and recommend recalibrations or retraining as needed.

Your Qualifications

  • Education: PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong background in statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive analytics.
  • Programming: Advanced proficiency in Python for data analysis and experimentation.
  • Data Experience: Proven track record of working with large, complex, and regulated datasets.
  • Mindset: A structured, hypothesis-driven approach to scientific problem-solving.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with AWS SageMaker (development, training, and deployment).
  • Familiarity with Deep Learning, probabilistic modeling, or causal inference.
  • Hands-on experience operationalizing models in cloud-based production environments.
  • Applied research experience (publications, presentations, or patents).

What's in it for you:

  • Flexibility & Balance: A hybrid work model (4 days office / 1 day home office) and a structured 38.5-hour work week according to collective agreements.
  • Competitive Salary: Starting at approx. 4,500 EUR gross/month, with significant flexibility for overpayment based on your PhD specialization and experience.
  • Cutting-Edge Tech Stack: Opportunity to work with advanced modeling tools and cloud environments like AWS SageMaker.
  • Career Growth: A high-level analytics role within a global technology organization offering long-term stability and professional development.
