Our platforms span AMD, Intel and Arm compute, NVIDIA and AMD GPUs, FPGAs, high-performance networking, parallel file systems and integrated software stacks. Projects range from POCs to multi-site deployments with hundreds of nodes and petabytes of storage.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior HPC Engineer who combines deep technical expertise with strong customer advisory capability.

You will work directly with customers to qualify requirements, evaluate existing environments, identify constraints and recommend best-fit HPC architectures. This is a hands-on engineering role with meaningful customer influence.

You will design, deploy and support environments built around:

  • OpenStack (Nova, Cinder, Ironic)
  • Ceph
  • MPI-based HPC stacks
  • Containerised workloads (Kubernetes essential)
  • GPU compute infrastructure

Travel across the UK and abroad will be required for deployments and customer engagements., * Lead customer discovery sessions to qualify and evaluate technical requirements

  • Advise on and design scalable HPC solutions across compute, storage, networking and software stack
  • Deploy HPC clusters end-to-end, including OpenStack and Ceph integration
  • Implement and optimise GPU-enabled compute environments
  • Deploy and manage containerised applications
  • Support and troubleshoot complex production HPC systems
  • Create clear, structured technical documentation for customer environments, including build guides, operational runbooks and support materials
  • Develop and deliver customer training sessions, both remote and on-site
  • Lead live technical demonstrations of infrastructure platforms and full software stacks
  • Monitor environments using Prometheus, Grafana and Monasca
  • Automate infrastructure using tools such as Ansible and Terraform

Requirements

Do you have experience in Terraform?, * 5+ years' hands-on HPC experience

  • Strong Linux expertise
  • Proven experience with OpenStack (Nova, Cinder, Ironic)
  • Deep understanding of Ceph
  • Experience with MPI environments and performance tuning
  • Experience building and supporting GPU compute infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of containerised applications and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Prometheus and Grafana
  • Python scripting skills

Desirable

  • Exposure to large-scale or multi-site deployments
  • Experience in regulated or finance environments
  • Security clearance
