Data and Business Intelligence is within Boots IT and is responsible for the enterprise Data Platform and Business Intelligence Reports. We are currently moving these reports to use Azure, Databricks and Power BI., As an Analytics Engineer you will report to the Analytics Engineering Manager. You will be responsible for maintaining and modelling the data that underpins our reports, proving it's accuracy, and working with our report developers to make sure that it's fit for purpose, while also maintaining aspects of our legacy data systems until we have completely moved to Databricks and Power BI. Our reports have thousands of daily users and so maintaining efficient performance is key.
You will also work with other parts of the business to understand and unlock the full potential of Boots' data.
Requirements
Do you have experience in VBA?, * 'Hands on' experience of data engineering within an analytics or BI / MI environment.
- Experience using Power BI to model data.
- Experience using Databricks.
- Be proficient at writing SQL
- Knowledge of data modelling concepts such as star schema
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to deal effectively and confidently with individuals at all levels of the business and across functional boundaries.
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to adapt to changing priorities as requirements evolve.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience of Python.
- Experience of other related tools such as ADF, ADO, Git and Powershell.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and VBA.
- Knowledge of Power BI External tools like Tabular Editor, Dax Studio, etc.
- Experience using SAP BW.
- Experience of Agile methodologies.
