Job description
Our financial services client is investing in a next-generation technology and AI landscape and is seeking a senior Enterprise AI Architect to shape the target state and govern its execution. Working alongside the Chief Architect and domain architecture leads, you will define a secure, resilient, and future-ready architecture that meets regulatory expectations, aligns with enterprise platform strategies, and supports business transformation without compromising service continuity. Scope of Work
- Define and continuously evolve the enterprise AI and technology architecture, including principles, standards, reference models, roadmaps, and reusable patterns.
- Establish and run architecture governance, ensuring consistent design decisions, traceability, and compliance with risk, security, and data policies.
- Convert strategic platform directions into sequenced, deliverable initiatives, enabling controlled migration from current to target state.
- Provide architectural oversight to Agile delivery teams and solution architects, ensuring alignment with approved blueprints and operational guardrails.
- Embed availability, resilience, and security-by-design across all technology domains.
Requirements
- End-to-end infrastructure knowledge across networking, compute, storage, virtualisation, databases, endpoint management, and cyber controls.
- Proven delivery in multi-cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong Zero Trust, IAM, and secure connectivity architecture.
- Automation and platform engineering practices (IaC, CI/CD, AIOps).
- Observability and performance architecture for mission-critical systems.
AI Platforms & Data Ecosystems
- Advanced knowledge of ML/DL model architectures and enterprise deployment patterns.
- Design of scalable AI platforms using microservices and distributed processing.
- Full MLOps lifecycle governance: packaging, release, monitoring, drift management, and lineage.
- Large-scale data engineering (ETL, streaming/batch pipelines, Spark/Hadoop, data platform integration).
- Hands-on experience with generative AI, multimodal models, and LLM-based solutions.
- Knowledge frameworks including retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge graphs, and agent orchestration.
- AI control frameworks addressing bias, explainability, model risk, hallucination mitigation, and regulatory obligations (e.g., GDPR, EU AI Act).
- Awareness of emerging AI interoperability standards and architectural patterns.
Autonomous / Agent-Based AI (Mandatory)
A proven delivery record of autonomous, goal-driven AI solutions in regulated environments is essential. This includes designing and productionising agent and multi-agent architectures capable of interpreting objectives, decomposing tasks, orchestrating tools, iterating through reasoning loops, and executing complex workflows end-to-end. Implementations must demonstrate strong governance, auditability, exception management, human oversight checkpoints, and integration with core banking, risk, or operational platforms. Architecture Practice
- Experience with established enterprise architecture methods (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, COBIT, ITIL).
- Strong modelling capability using standard notations and tooling (ArchiMate, UML, BPMN).
- Security and compliance embedded as foundational design principles.
Strategic & Leadership Profile
- Able to balance innovation with operational stability, cost efficiency, and risk management in a regulated FSI context.
- Strong analytical capability to resolve complex, cross-domain challenges.
- Effective communicator across engineering teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership.
- Experience mentoring architects and enabling delivery teams through standards and best practice.
Environment
- Track record within large, complex financial institutions operating hybrid, multi-cloud estates and legacy integration landscapes.
- Relevant certifications in enterprise architecture, cloud platforms, security, or service management are advantageous.
Languages
Professional fluency in Dutch, French, and English is required.
