Job description
The AIT Processes Team ensures harmonized, efficient, and digitalized AIT operations across all relevant sites. The team develops, maintains, and continuously improves AIT standards, methods, tools, and documentation, enabling safe, high-quality, and repeatable manufacturing processes. In close collaboration with AIT Operators, Engineering, Quality, IT, and Management Systems, the team supports both Bremen and Oberpfaffenhofen in establishing robust and future-proof AIT processes.
The AIT Processes Team Leader shall coordinate and ensure the execution of the following activities:
- Disciplinary responsibility for the AIT Processes team members, including their personal development
- Standardization, Development & Maintenance of AIT Processes and Documentation
- Definition, development, and maintenance of standardized AIT (core and support) processes
- Creation and upkeep of AIT documentation (work instructions, templates, procedure references, and checklists)
- Ownership of AIT Knowledge and Reference Documentation
- Administration and continuous update of AIT knowledge databases (AIT Handbook, CWA, AIT PDM repositories, best-practice collections)
- Establishing, maintaining, and improving a systematic Lessons Learned process for AIT
- Cross-Site Process Support (Bremen & Oberpfaffenhofen)
- Provide overarching process support for both locations (North/South)
- Facilitate harmonization of AIT processes and practices across sites
- Support for AIT Standardization Projects & Strategic Initiatives
- Technical support in projects related to AIT standardization initiatives, toolchain development, and digitalization projects (e.g., AIT.COM, PDM, Polarion, U2Champ)
- Providing expert support to tool users and ensuring effective tool usage
- Innovation, Automation & Digitalization of AIT Processes
- Identifying opportunities for automation and digitalization within AIT environments.
- Supporting and implementing digital initiatives (e.g., outputs of the AIT industrialization stream in U2Champ)
- Prepare serial production and maintain the overall satellite manufacturing system
- Training, Competence Development & Mentoring
- Supporting competence development in AIT, including trainings and knowledge management
Requirements
- Completed engineering degree in a related discipline or an equivalent qualification
- Several years of involvement in satellite or comparable high-technology projects, ideally in the area of Assembly, Integration & Testing (AIT)
- Excellent conceptual and analytical abilities
- Strong communication skills and well-developed leadership capabilities
- Creativity and initiative in developing or improving AIT methods and test approaches
- Fluency in spoken and written English and German
