Job description
We are seeking a senior Solution Architect to lead the end-to-end design of a bespoke, cloud-native procurement platform supporting Corporate Functions. This is a high-impact role at the centre of business change, technology transformation and enterprise governance.
The Opportunity
You will own the architecture for a strategic in-house solution, translating complex business requirements into secure, scalable and delivery-ready designs on Microsoft Azure.
This role combines hands-on technical depth with strong business engagement. You'll work across architecture, engineering, product and senior stakeholders to shape a solution that is both strategically aligned and pragmatically delivered.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture across application, integration, data and security domains
- Translate business outcomes, requirements and user stories into coherent architectural designs
- Define conceptual, logical and technical architectures aligned to enterprise standards
- Produce high-quality HLDs, LLDs, interface specifications and data models
- Ensure the solution is cloud-native, secure, resilient and scalable on Microsoft Azure
- Embed non-functional requirements including performance, audit, availability and recoverability
- Provide architectural guidance through build, test and release
- Act as design authority and present solutions at governance forums
- Identify and manage architectural risks, trade-offs and dependencies
Requirements
If you are a hands-on Solution Architect with strong Java/Azure experience and the ability to bridge business and technology in a regulated enterprise environment, we'd like to hear from you., * Proven experience delivering end-to-end solution architecture for custom-built enterprise systems
- Deep experience with:
- Java (Back End architecture and design)
- Angular (Front End architecture)
- Camunda or BPM/workflow orchestration
- MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL
- Microsoft Azure (cloud-native architecture, security, DevOps, API management)
- Strong understanding of integration patterns (REST APIs, event-driven, messaging, ETL)
- Experience embedding non-functional requirements into solution design
Business & Stakeholder Capability
- Strong ability to translate business requirements into structured architectural artefacts
- Experience shaping as-is/to-be processes and working closely with Business Analysts
- Confident engaging with senior stakeholders across IT, Risk, Finance and Corporate Functions
- Experience working within formal architecture governance (Design Authority, ARB)
- Comfortable operating in agile delivery environments
Desirable Experience
- Procurement systems or corporate function platforms (Finance, HR, Risk)
- Experience in regulated environments
- Large-scale transformation programmes and Legacy modernisation
- Programming capability (Java, Python or SQL)
- Enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, ArchiMate, BPMN, UML)
