Job description

After several years delivering complex enterprise software for a large multinational consultancy, we're now scaling that work into a repeatable, AI-first delivery model.

We're looking for a strong mid-level Software Engineer - AI-First Delivery to join as an early employee.

This is an application engineering role. We build production-grade software systems (frontend + backend) for enterprise clients, using AI-assisted development as a force multiplier.

This is a genuine ground-floor opportunity. You'll contribute directly to live enterprise client delivery while also helping refine how we deliver, how we operate, and how AI-first engineering is done in practice.

This role is for someone who wants more ownership and responsibility than a typical mid-level position offers - hands-on delivery combined with exposure to real architectural thinking, enterprise standards, and high expectations.

What you'll be working on

You'll be immediately placed on a live client engagement, working on an AI-first, client-facing platform that acts as the front door into a mature, highly developed enterprise system.

This is a client that No Code Sage has an established, multi-year relationship with. You'll be contributing from day one - building meaningful parts of a client-facing platform using an AI-first software delivery mindset, delivering alongside senior engineers at a high standard.

The platform will:

  • Integrate deeply with an existing, large-scale low-code enterprise solution
  • Be delivered for a large multinational consultancy
  • Support global procurement and operations teams across multiple regions

You'll be delivering real enterprise software from day one, using modern AI-assisted workflows that you'll apply, refine, and help hold to a high standard.

Technical environment

You'll work in a modern, AI-accelerated engineering environment. While specifics evolve, the typical stack includes:

  • TypeScript across the stack
  • Node.js services and APIs
  • Modern React-based frontend frameworks
  • PostgreSQL
  • Cloud-hosted infrastructure (AWS or similar)
  • Integration with enterprise low-code platforms
  • Extensive use of LLM tooling - particularly Claude Code - for architectural reasoning, implementation acceleration, test generation, and system refactoring

We care deeply about strong fundamentals - clean structure, good naming, maintainable systems, clear boundaries, and production-grade quality - accelerated through intelligent AI usage.

What this role actually is

This is a hands-on engineering role with real delivery responsibility, inside an early-stage but serious enterprise-facing agency.

You will:

  • Build production-ready components and features using AI-assisted development workflows
  • Deliver defined parts of a wider client-facing solution, independently or paired with a senior engineer
  • Take technical direction and turn it into working, production-grade software
  • Contribute to documenting and refining AI-first practices and workflows
  • Help create reusable components and patterns for future projects
  • Contribute to internal tooling, documentation, and standards as the agency matures

You'll own meaningful pieces of delivery and be trusted to execute to a high standard., * Actively using tools like Claude Code (strongly preferred), Cursor, or similar AI-native development environments as part of your daily engineering workflow

  • Using modern AI-assisted tools as a default part of your development workflow
  • Building software with AI from the outset, not layering it on at the end
  • Thinking critically about prompts, context, agents, and workflows as part of everyday engineering
  • Actively refining how AI improves speed, clarity, and output quality

You do not need to be an AI researcher - but you must already be building real software with AI as a core part of your workflow. You should have opinions. You should be experimenting. You should believe this is the future of software delivery.

If you're already operating this way and want an environment where that mindset is expected, you'll feel at home here. If you're still deciding whether this is how you want to work, this likely isn't the right fit., * Fully remote

  • UK-based preferred (but not required)
  • Occasional travel (around once a month) to:
  • Client sites (primarily London and Lisbon, with other locations possible)
  • Bristol (founder location)

What success looks like

Within 3 months You're embedded with the client, shipping production-ready components into a live AI-first platform and trusted with meaningful parts of the solution.

Within 6 months You own defined components or areas end-to-end, contribute confidently to solution discussions, and help refine AI-first workflows in practice.

Within 12 months You're a core contributor to the agency - reliable, high-quality, and raising the bar for how AI-first application delivery is executed.

Requirements

Do you have experience in TypeScript?, Do you have a Master's degree?, We're looking for a strong mid-level engineer who operates with maturity and ownership., * 3-5+ years professional software development experience

  • Currently operating at strong mid-level engineer
  • Comfortable owning defined components or features end-to-end
  • Able to contribute meaningfully to technical discussions and solution design
  • Experience working in production systems with real users
  • Startup or scale-up experience highly desirable

AI-assisted development (essential)

You must:

  • Be actively working with modern AI-assisted development tools and approaches
  • Have demonstrable, hands-on experience doing this in real work, with clear opinions and personal workflows
  • Be able to clearly explain how you work with AI and why
  • Have real, demonstrable examples of AI-assisted or AI-first work you can walk through
  • Strong experience using Claude Code is highly desirable

You'll be expected to walk through concrete examples, demonstrate how you work, and explain your approach to AI-assisted development during the interview process.

Mindset

You should be excited by starting at the beginning and helping shape how things are done.

You're comfortable creating the playbook rather than being handed one. You're a doer - someone who figures things out, takes ownership, and gets things done without needing perfect information or constant direction. When something needs solving, your instinct is "leave it with me, I'll sort it".

This is a day-one agency environment, immediately delivering for a real enterprise client. Outwardly it's calm, professional, and credible; behind the scenes, you're helping build the foundations, solve problems, and make progress where there is no precedent yet.

If you're looking for a highly structured, comfortable role with everything clearly defined upfront, this won't feel like home. If you're excited by responsibility, momentum, and building something meaningful while delivering for real clients, it probably will.

Benefits & conditions

  • £50,000-£55,000 salary (depending on experience)
  • Options included
  • Permanent role

About the company

This is a chance to join at an early stage and help build something properly - not just a role, but a way of delivering enterprise software in an AI-first world. You'll work on real enterprise problems, with real clients, and real impact from day one. You'll help shape how AI-first delivery is done in practice, alongside people who genuinely believe this is the future and are already operating that way. If building, leading, and delivering in an AI-first way - with ownership, momentum, and ambition - genuinely excites you, this role will feel like an opportunity. If this feels like the role you've been waiting for, we should talk.
