Your Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business requirements and design end-to-end Generative AI (GenAI) solution architectures and implementation plans for company-wide digital initiatives
  • Lead research and evaluation of GenAI technologies and trends (foundation models, vector databases, agent orchestration frameworks, MLOps platforms) to develop an INNIO wide GenAI technology roadmap
  • Design and evolve a scalable, reusable GenAI application platform (APIs, services, components) that can be leveraged across multiple products and teams
  • Define architecture and standards for secure, governed data flows between operational systems, data platforms and GenAI services in alignment with Enterprise Architects
  • Establish and review standards for code, prompts, model configurations, and pipelines in line with software engineering best practices, cyber security, responsible AI, and legal/IP requirements
  • Work on multiple GenAI initiatives in parallel and supervise, coach and guide software and ML/AI engineers in implementing the target architecture
  • Drive and support troubleshooting and optimization of GenAI solutions (quality, latency, cost, reliability, and model behavior) in production environments
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship, evangelizing GenAI best practices with stakeholders across the company

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or related field; Master's degree is a plus
  • 7+ years of experience in software development, with expertise in architecting and delivering AI/ML or GenAI applications at scale on public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, GenAI patterns (RAG, agent integration, prompt orchestration), Python, and modern AI/ML ecosystems (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Langchain), plus solid software engineering skills (testing, CI/CD, code review)
  • Strong skills in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture (microservices, containers, Kubernetes), and modern data storage and retrieval technologies for GenAI workloads (vector databases and relational/time-series databases, e.g., Postgres/MySQL, ClickHouse or similar)
  • Strong focus on software quality, performance, maintainability, and security, including awareness of data privacy, governance and responsible AI considerations
  • Knowledge of modern development processes and ways of working (Agile/Scrum, DevOps)
  • Bonus: Familiarity with additional backend/frontend frameworks (Java/Spring Boot, ReactJS), and contributions to open-source AI projects or a strong portfolio of public GenAI prototypes
  • A valid work permit for Austria is a prerequisite for this position (Non-EU citizens: please attach the work permit to the application)
  • This role requires 50% presence at the headquarters in Jenbach, Austria
