Job description

  • Deliver high-quality afterschool coding and STEM clubs in schools across Greenwich, SE London, and Central London
  • Teach engaging online coding classes in the evenings
  • Explain coding concepts clearly to children of different ages and abilities
  • Manage behaviour positively and create a calm, inclusive, and enjoyable learning environment
  • Set up and pack away equipment/resources for in-person clubs
  • Keep attendance records and provide brief feedback where required
  • Represent Code Kids Robotics professionally in schools and with parents/carers
  • Travel between venues as required

Requirements

Do you have experience in Working with children?, We are looking for excellent communicators who enjoy working with children and can teach (or quickly develop into teaching) coding and STEM activities using platforms such as:

  • Minecraft coding (including Minecraft Education / MakeCode)
  • Scratch
  • LEGO Robotics
  • Python (beginner level)

We provide training and structured support, so candidates do not need to be experts in every platform. However, applicants should have a basic understanding of Minecraft and Scratch and the confidence to teach children in a fun, clear, and organised way., * Right to work in the UK

  • Ability to work 20+ hours per week
  • Availability Monday to Friday, 2:30pm to 5:00pm, plus online teaching in the evenings
  • Flexibility to travel to clubs across SE London and Central London
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with children
  • Basic understanding of Minecraft and Scratch
  • Experience working with children in a teaching, tutoring, coaching, club, or childcare setting
  • Reliable, punctual, and well-organised

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Experience teaching Minecraft coding, Scratch, LEGO Robotics, or Python
  • Experience teaching afterschool clubs in schools
  • Experience with Minecraft Education and/or MakeCode
  • Enhanced DBS (especially on the Update Service)
  • Teaching qualification or relevant STEM background, * Ideal for candidates with strong communication skills and a solid basic understanding of Minecraft and Scratch who want to grow into a wider STEM teaching role
