Job description
We are seeking a Data Protection Administrator to join our clients team on a temporary basis. This role is crucial for managing and protecting sensitive information in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR. The ideal candidate will have a DBS and be able to handle a high volume of confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Work closely with the Operations and Compliance Manager to provide administrative support in responding to Subject Access Requests.
- Sort, convert, and categorise personal data efficiently.
- Remove duplicate data from data searches.
- Apply redaction principles to personal data to be supplied as part of a Subject Access Request.
- Assist in maintaining a log of redaction decisions to ensure they are legally defensible to challenges by the ICO.
- Manage a high volume of confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Requirements
- Efficient and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and apply guidance relating to legal principles.
- Highly literate with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good time management with the ability to work to a deadline.
- The ability to work with discretion at all times.
- Advanced IT skills - knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat to a competent level.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with processing Subject Access Requests and applying redactions.
- Educated to A level, or equivalent experience.
