Job description

Our client, a leading UK edge infrastructure provider, is seeking a skilled Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to join their team. This role is essential for managing and maintaining the critical systems that underpin their national network of data centres., As an M&E Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all electrical and mechanical systems on-site. You will ensure the facility remains safe, secure, and fully operational while providing technical support to both internal teams and external clients., * Maintenance & Repairs: Perform "first fix" M&E tasks, fabric repairs, and scheduled Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to ensure building integrity.

  • System Monitoring: Conduct environment monitoring and provide "smart hands" support for customers and technical teams.
  • Project Support: Manage small project works independently and provide supervision for larger-scale infrastructure tasks.
  • Safety & Compliance: Rigidly follow health and safety procedures, maintain site security, and manage incident escalations.
  • Operational Support: Assist with rack installations, cabling for cooling efficiency, and maintain stock control of critical spares.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be a proactive team player with a strong technical background in critical environments., * Qualifications: Completed electrical apprenticeship with BS th Edition wiring regulations.

  • Technical Experience: Proven experience with L.V. switching, HVAC systems, UPS circuitry, and Generators.
  • System Knowledge: Familiarity with BMS systems and Fire Preventative Systems.
  • IT Literacy: Basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Working Pattern: Ability to work 37.5 hours per week on a shift pattern (between 7 am and 7 pm) - Potentially open to discussion.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to provide holiday cover and overtime support as required.
