Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Systems Engineer to join our Engi at our office in Stockport. You will be responsible for the requirements and technical definition of complex engineering solutions for the railway signalling market. You will work throughout the full system life cycle from defining customer requirements, developing System Specifications, reliability, availability, maintenance, safety and system disposal., * Systems Concept and design,

  • Requirements Management,
  • Technical Documentation,
  • System Verification and Standards compliance,
  • Additional project delivery tasks e.g., test planning, experiment design, fault analysis etc.
  • Additional tasks to support design for reliability and product acceptance.
  • Attendance at Communication cells to identify tasks where additional guidance
  • support in defining what tasks need to be completed to support planning.
  • production testing of equipment and at times support in resolving customer enquiries for existing products.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Systems engineering?, Candidates must hold a degree qualification in an Engineering or STEM-related subject, with proven industry-relevant experience OR equivalent experience in the railway industry with evidence of professional development to evidence your ability. We would also consider applications from candidates with experience in Aerospace, Automotive and MOD industries. Candidates must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and be able to manage their own time in line with business priorities.

Candidates must also be able to demonstrate:

  • Evidence of systems design and specification definition in complex engineering projects

  • Ability to work with and mentor others.

  • Ability to critically analyse and quantify their reasoning.

  • An understanding of systems or project management life lifecycles.

  • Demonstrable IEng level competency.

  • Experience in rail products and their design life cycle (desirable).

  • Track record and experience in the use of numerous technologies, both digital and material (desirable).

  • Track record of the development of staff both technical and non-technical (desirable).

  • An understanding of Quality with respect to projects, products and business operations (desirable).
