Job description
As a senior leader in the IAG Cargo Strategy and Transformation Office, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of a portfolio of strategic programmes and projects, leading a team of project and programme managers, and ensuring alignment between strategy and execution., * Lead and manage a high-performing team of project and programme managers, ensuring clarity of purpose, accountability, and development through structured performance management, coaching, and leadership.
- Own the end-to-end delivery of the transformation portfolio from project creation to handover, ensuring all are delivered on time, within budget, with outcomes that are embedded and deliver the intended outcome
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Transformation to ensure a seamless transition from strategic planning to delivery execution, maintaining alignment across the transformation lifecycle.
- Establish and lead regular portfolio delivery reviews, ensuring all projects are on track, risks are proactively managed, and corrective actions are implemented swiftly.
- Partner with the PMO Office to embed delivery best practices, ensure robust risk management, and proactively manage project interdependencies across the portfolio.
- Establish and maintain governance, reporting, and assurance frameworks to track delivery performance, manage risk, and ensure benefits realisation.
- Act as the primary escalation point for project delivery issues, providing hands-on support to resolve critical challenges and unblock teams.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to ensure alignment, engagement, and successful adoption of change.
- Work with PMO on resource allocation across all transformation projects, optimising team capacity and resolving delivery bottlenecks.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, embedding best practices in project delivery, stakeholder management, and benefits tracking.
- Working with PMO, provide clear, data-driven insights to the Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer and Executive Team on portfolio performance, delivery risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Champion agile and adaptive delivery approaches where appropriate, balancing pace with control to ensure successful outcomes.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Waterfall?, * Proven track record of delivering complex transformation programmes in a large, matrixed organisation
- Demonstrated experience leading large, diverse delivery teams at scale
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience managing large delivery teams
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at executive level
- Deep understanding of project and programme delivery methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
- Commercial acumen and experience managing large budgets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, * Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
