Job description
Our client is recruiting for an ambitious technical expert, reporting to the Head of IT and primarily responsible for the installation, maintenance, and security of the organisation's network infrastructure with a core focus on Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and on-premises Windows environments. You'll help set standards, coach others, and improve the consistency and quality of end user support., * Act as the senior escalation point for infrastructure and network issues
- Maintain high availability across servers, networks and core platforms
- Ensure high availability, seamless connectivity, and robust protection against cyber threats through the implementation of Microsoft-centric security controls
- Configure and monitor security controls using Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Entra ID
- Work alongside the department to monitor vulnerabilities and intrusions, patching server infrastructure and client devices
- Managing Conditional Access Policies, MFA and Role-Based Access Controls
- Install and troubleshoot physical hardware. Provide recommendations for the improvement of the office physical networking infrastructure
- Maintain accurate network diagrams and ensure other key documentation is reviewed and updated
- Work alongside the department to ensure endpoint compliance across the estate spanning both laptops and mobile devices
- Improving processes, documentation, and standard operating procedures
- Attend webinars/conferences and networking events to identify trends/threats in the security landscape to assist the company in driving IT forward
- The role is extremely varied - the appointed individual will be also required to assist with the day-to-day running of the IT function and act as a technical escalation point of contact
- Ad-hoc project work will be required where necessary
Requirements

Multiple years' experience in a similar 3rd Line role within a Microsoft Ecosystem

Ability to work independently with autonomy over your own workload and priorities
Strong communications skills at all levels of business including explaining concepts to a non-technical audience
Proactive to provide improvements or recommendations to the Head of IT
Happy to travel to their office locations across the UK as required - travel will not be regular but as and when needed
Eager to stay up to date with the evolving cloud technologies and security threat landscape
