Job description

The Data & Examinations Officer is responsible for managing the school's data systems and leading all internal and external exam processes. This role ensures data accuracy, delivers high-quality reporting, and oversees examinations from planning to results day. The post holder will work closely with senior leaders, teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities1. Data & Systems Management

  • Manage all pupil data including attendance, assessment, admissions, leavers, progress, and timetables.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data across all platforms (including BROMCOM).
  • Produce and distribute detailed reports for SLT, governors, staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Maintain Pupil Premium and Free School Meals (FSM) lists.
  • Support staff in generating statistical data and analysing trends.
  • Lead on BTEC, A-Level, GCSE downloads, results management, and census submissions.
  • Develop and present an annual data calendar to senior leadership.
  1. Behaviour Systems & House Points
  • Maintain and oversee behaviour data systems within BROMCOM.
  • Ensure timely data entry and communication of behaviour updates.
  • Track house points via Power BI and provide weekly analysis.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets for behaviour and house points reporting.
  1. Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyse behaviour trends and generate weekly data reports.
  • Provide insights to support pastoral strategies and behaviour interventions.
  • Identify priority areas and support whole-school improvement.
  1. Communication & Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with heads of department, pastoral leaders, data teams, and teaching staff.
  • Train staff on BROMCOM systems and data interpretation.
  • Support A-Level and GCSE results days.
  1. Examinations Management
  • Lead and manage the invigilation team, including training and quality assurance.
  • Coordinate all internal and external examinations: rooming, timetables, seating, clashes, and access arrangements.
  • Manage exam entries, liaise with exam boards, and ensure compliance with JCQ guidelines.
  • Oversee secure storage of papers, coursework handling, moderator visits, appeals, and results distribution.
  • Maintain up-to-date exam procedures and ensure regulatory compliance.
  1. Additional Duties
  • Participate in ongoing training and CPD.
  • Uphold safeguarding, equality, and organisational policies.
  • Contribute to a positive school environment and community ethos.
  • Undertake additional duties (e.g., Fire Warden or First Aider - training provided).

Requirements

Do you have experience in Power BI?, Do you have a GCSE?, * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service - mandatory

  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a similar role within a UK Secondary School (recent and relevant)
  • Strong working knowledge of BROMCOM, Power BI, and Excel
  • Right to work in the UK, * Enhanced DBS and right to work in the UK.
  • Experience in data management and analysis (education sector experience preferred).
  • Strong technical skills: BROMCOM, Power BI, Excel.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.

Benefits & conditions

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary Contract length: 1 month

Pay: £150.00-£200.00 per day
