Job description
This is an opportunity for a dynamic Cyber Security Engineer / Cyber Essentials assessor to join a fast-growing IT Managed Service Provider. The role will involve working within our cyber security team. Initially, the role will be primarily office-based, with the potential for on-site engagements and security consultancy work as the role develops.
Due to the expected growth of the business, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress into advanced roles such as penetration testing and security related project in the future. We are committed to supporting career progression and providing exposure to a wide range of security technologies and practices.
General duties will include:
Resolving customer issues via a ticketing system, phone and email.
Working to Service Level Agreements
Working with network devices such as Cisco and HP
Switching configurations and troubleshooting including Cisco, Meraki, HP.
Firewalls and Router configurations and troubleshooting including Meraki.
Windows Server troubleshooting including 2012/2016/2019/2022 versions.
Windows endpoint troubleshooting including Windows 7, Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Office 365 Administration including troubleshooting and setting up.
Vmware knowledge would be desirable but not required.
General TCP/IP, Lan, Wan and VPN troubleshooting.
Delivering efficient vulnerability management solutions using Qualys and Defender for Business and occasionally Nessus.
Using dashboards and security tools to identify indicators of compromise (IoCs) and investigate suspicious activities.
Providing cyber security training to end customers, on site and remotely.
Monitoring alerts, analysing potential threats, and responding promptly to security incidents.
Assisting in the containment, remediation, and recovery of systems during security incidents.
Organising and scheduling CE / CE+ assessment days, ensuring all necessary resources and timelines are in place.
Acting as a point of contact for clients, providing clear guidance and updates throughout CE / CE+ projects.
Leading internal and external meetings to outline project goals, expectations, and deliverables.
Conducting technical assessments, evaluating evidence provided by clients, and signing off CE / CE+ with assistance from Seruin's lead CE+ assessor.
Preparing detailed CE / CE+ assessment reports, identifying gaps, and recommending remediation steps where required.
Offering clients expert advice to achieve compliance for CE / CE+, maintain cyber security standards, and improve overall security posture.
Conducting basic penetration tests on networks, applications, or systems to identify security weaknesses.
Using tools such as Burp Suite, Nessus, or Metasploit to perform security assessments.
Supporting advanced penetration testing projects led by senior team members.
Assisting with the analysis, reporting and remediation of test findings, providing actionable recommendations to clients.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Windows?, You will have:
Three years' experience in an IT related role.
Be accepted to the Cyber Essentials Assessor training.
Excellent customer services skills
High level of interpersonal skills
High level communication skills
High level critical thinking skills
An ability to accurately triage technical requests.
A valid UK driving license.
