Job description

As an IT Service Lead Engineer, you will operate as the senior technical authority for a key customer, effectively acting as their internal IT Manager.

You will own the security, stability, and continual improvement of their IT environment across Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Azure, Identity and Access Management, security platforms, and enterprise networking.

You will lead multi site projects, including VPN connected environments and large user estates, conduct site surveys, manage risk, and ensure structured delivery in collaboration with internal teams. You will provide clear updates on service performance and technical risk while maintaining high quality documentation.

This is a highly customer facing role where you will influence senior stakeholders, attend strategy and board level meetings, and shape long term technology direction. You retain ownership of SLA performance, key escalations, and driving ongoing service improvement.

This is a role for someone who combines technical depth with leadership presence and commercial awareness.

This role offers the opportunity to travel to customer sites across the UK and Europe, with occasional worldwide visits depending on project and operational needs. It is a fantastic chance to build strong client relationships, gain exposure to diverse environments, and make a real impact on an international scale.

What You Will Work On

Customer Leadership Act as the trusted technical lead across UK and European sites, building strong relationships and providing clear direction.

Project & Change Delivery Lead site launches, relocations, upgrades and improvements. Conduct site surveys, manage risk, and ensure structured, secure delivery in collaboration with internal teams.

Solution Design & Technology Direction Drive technical standards, shape solution design, and influence long term technology strategy aligned to Microsoft and security best practice.

Service Ownership & Stability Own SLA performance, manage key escalations, and ensure smooth collaboration between onsite and service desk teams while maintaining operational stability.

Security & Compliance Protect and strengthen the customer environment, ensuring robust security posture, effective monitoring, and proactive risk management.

Standards & Continuous Improvement Maintain high quality documentation, support reporting, coach users where needed, and drive ongoing service and efficiency improvements., During the 6 month probationary period, business mileage will be reimbursed in line with HMRC Approved Mileage Allowance Payments up to 45p per mile. Following successful completion of probation, you will be provided with either a company vehicle or car allowance, depending on role requirements.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will bring the flexibility, credibility, and recognised expertise that allows you to operate confidently in high trust environments., * Right to Work in the UK

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Willingness and ability to travel across the UK and Europe
  • Regular engagement at our Heathrow customer site, with the option to operate from that location as a primary base.
  • Ability to successfully complete security and pre-employment checks including DBS, Counter Terrorism Check CTC, and site specific clearance requirements

Essential Certifications

We are looking for individuals who have invested in their professional development and achieved industry recognised certifications, including:

  • Microsoft 365 Certified Endpoint Administrator Associate MD 102
  • Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect SC 100
  • Cisco Meraki Certification

These certifications demonstrate advanced technical capability across modern workplace, security architecture, and enterprise networking, positioning you as a trusted technical authority.

However, if you have the relevant hands on experience but have not yet gained the formal accreditation, we will support you in achieving these certifications as part of your development with us., This role requires an experienced IT professional who thrives on ownership, accountability, and delivering real impact.

At least 5 years of experience within the IT industry, with a strong technical foundation

A minimum of 2 years operating in a senior or lead capacity, taking responsibility for outcomes
