Senior Applications Engineer

As a Sr. Gas Applications Engineer, you will be in a customer-facing role that requires self-motivated individuals with consultative and communication skills to implement Aspen Tech's solutions. The position is focused on designing, installing, and configuring advanced oil & gas applications for SCADA control systems in upstream, midstream, and downstream operations. In this position you will oversee technical aspects of Professional Services for Aspen Tech's oil & gas utility products in coordination with other Aspen Tech's Engineering staff and customers. Specific on-the-job training will be provided. Your Impact

• Develop and execute system build plans accounting for software architecture, information security, and hardware deployment.
• Work closely with customers to understand their operational needs, provide system training, and configuration to meet their needs.
• Own the technical Professional Services aspects, including implementation of the overall proposed system design, of Aspen Tech's products for real-time critical infrastructure control systems.
• Perform system and acceptance testing with the end customers.
• Work closely with product development and product management teams to enhance Aspen Tech's products into the future.
• Travel to customer sites and work directly with customers to successfully deliver, test, and integrate systems.
• Represent AspenTech in a superior manner with an excellent attitude.
• Manage assigned projects with care, concern, and diligence.
• Be decisive and innovative when resolving issues.

Do you have experience in Data center experience?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant technical field.

• Experienced project implementation or operational experience, preferably in the utility industry.
• Proficiency with communicating technical concepts and presenting to customers.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to make clear observations and conclusions based on customer interviews and data.
• Strong time / project management and organization skills.
• Ability and flexibility to travel to domestic or international locations.
• Ability to remain flexible and effective under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working in the operations or engineering group of a gas utility or oil & gas energy provider.
• Experience working with or deploying real-time control systems including SCADA solutions.
• 5+ years of engineering or oil & gas industry operations experience.
• Knowledge of computer architecture, databases, and operating systems.
• Knowledge of IT systems and data center designs.
• Knowledge of oil & gas measurement principles and hydraulics.
