Senior IT Auditor with Consulting Skills

In this role you will:

• Contribute to audit planning, execution, and reporting across IT governance, risk management, and cybersecurity domains, with a focus on ITIL, NIS2, ISO 2700x, BIO, ABDO (Defence) and ABRO (Dutch Central Governments and the police) standards.
• Perform fieldwork to assess design, existence, and operating effectiveness of controls and processes, documenting findings in line with audit frameworks.
• Support senior auditors in serving as the independent quality checkpoint for government and defense programs.
• Assist in preparing clear audit reports and recommendations for middle management and technical stakeholders.
• Develop your consultancy skills by translating technical audit results into practical, actionable insights.
• Work closely with experienced auditors to further build expertise in control deficiency management, risk assessments, and compliance management.

Do you have experience in Risk management?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Master's degree in a relevant field such as IT, Computer Science, Information Security, or Business Administration with IT specialization.

• CISA (in progress or completed) or equivalent relevant certification. Preferred RE (Register EDP Auditor).
• 3-5 years of professional experience in IT auditing, preferably in government and/or defense-related environments.
• Practical knowledge of IT governance, risk management, and cybersecurity audits.
• Hands-on experience with audit fieldwork, audit reporting, and risk assessments, ideally including ITGC testing.
• Familiarity with standards such as ITIL, NIS2, ISO 2700x, BIO, ABDO (Defence) and ABRO.
• Dutch citizenship, with eligibility for government or defense-related security clearance.
• Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written).

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Strong analytical and communication skills: able to work with technical staff and clearly document audit outcomes.
• Experience in supporting internal audit engagements within government or defense organizations.
• Knowledge of compliance reporting, regulatory compliance management, and security controls in highly regulated environments.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as COSO 2013 is a plus.
• Motivation to grow into a senior audit role with advisory and leadership responsibilities.
