Job description
We are seeking an experienced IT Programme Manager to lead the concept phase of a large-scale Manufacturing Execution System (MES) programme within a highly regulated and secure environment.
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must hold active UK Security Clearance (SC). Clearance must be current and transferable. Sponsorship is not available.
The Role
You will act as the central orchestrator across multiple integrated work packages, ensuring alignment between internal teams and external technology suppliers. This is a complex, multi-supplier environment requiring strong governance, scheduling discipline and technical integration oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the MES concept phase using Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies as appropriate Own programme orchestration across multiple suppliers and internal stakeholders Deliver governance artefacts including Business Requirements Collections and programme reporting Manage sprint delivery using DevOps practices Ensure full compliance with structured integration and responsibility models Oversee supplier dependencies, integration sequencing and schedule alignment Maintain quantified risk registers with demonstrated P75-P90 schedule maturity
Technical Environment
The programme includes deployment and integration of MES platforms, SAP systems and PLM solutions, alongside supporting infrastructure across development, pre-production and production environments.
Scope includes: MES software deployment and configuration SAP-MES and PLM integrations Infrastructure capacity expansion Network and desktop estate rollout Service transition into support Enterprise planning using P6
Requirements
Active UK SC Clearance (essential) Proven experience delivering complex IT or digital transformation programmes Strong experience managing multi-supplier environments Advanced scheduling capability using P6 Experience working within structured governance and compliance frameworks Understanding of enterprise system integrations (eg ERP, PLM, MES environments) Demonstrable SQEP-level programme oversight capability Experience operating within secure or defence-regulated environments
