Job description

Enterprise Storage & Automation Engineer (DevOps Focus) - 2-Year Programme - Remote - £425 PAYE

Are you a hands-on storage and infrastructure expert who thrives in a DevOps environment? Join a global bank's Enterprise Services team and provide input into the future roadmap and shaping of the next generation of storage and cloud platforms.

The role:

  • Lead and execute enterprise storage initiatives on Dell PowerMax/Vmax3/XtremIO, Pure FlashArray, HPE Primera/Alletra, Cirrus DMS, and Broadcom/Cisco SAN networks.
  • Develop automation scripts and tools using Python, Ansible, Shell, and Infrastructure-as-Code to streamline provisioning, migration, and compliance.
  • Support Linux, Windows, VMware, and cloud infrastructure while building as-a-service offerings for internal DevOps teams.
  • Drive testing, product qualification, and storage/server mapping to ensure platform excellence.
  • Partner with business and DevOps teams to deliver innovative, scalable enterprise solutions.

To apply you will require the following skills and experience:

  • Ability to lead automation, migrations, and platform services independently
  • 5+ years - Expert level in enterprise storage systems (Dell, Pure, HPE, Cirrus) and SAN connectivity.
  • 5+ years - Strong automation and Scripting skills (Python, Ansible, Shell) with DevOps experience (CI/CD, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef).
  • Solid understanding of Linux, Windows, VMware, and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Experience in storage migrations, platform services, and enterprise environments.
  • Excellent communicator, proactive, and ready to work independently on complex projects.

This is a great hands-on opportunity to combine storage expertise with automation and DevOps.

March 2026 start | Initial contract to Nov 2026 (major 2 year programme) | Remote (UK) | very occasional travel to London/Sheffield/Birmingham

Deemed as inside IR35, ran on a PAYE basis (no Umbrella service costs or Employers NI reductions on rate).
