We are looking for a Senior IT Operations Engineer to help drive and support our ambitious business and IT strategic objectives. The successful candidate will take on a diverse, engineering and hands-on role in IT Operations, overseeing the operation, maintenance, and support of the bank's client facing and internal applications and services. The candidate should be a proactive IT engineer and problem solver, capable of taking ownership and working independently as part of a team.
Main Responsibilities & Tasks (including, but not limited to)
- Execution of day-to-day 'business as usual' tasks to ensure availability and stability of the bank's business applications and services
- Engineering and implementation of smart solutions (Automation, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code / IAC) that align with organizational goals
- Troubleshoot technical issues also by engaging with our service providers and development teams
- Ensuring application and system processes are correctly scheduled and monitored both during and outside of business hours
- Onboarding, Installing and Updating applications and interfaces while adhering to banking security standards
- OS Administration, Windows, Linux and OpenShift platforms
- Continuous improvement of the bank's applications and systems and processes
- Collaboration with external parties who provide infrastructure and/or services, * Container Platforms (Openshift / Kubernetes)
- Cloud Technology (Azure, Oracle OCI)
- CICD concepts, DevOps and Monitoring tools (Splunk, Grafana, OEM)
- Active Directory, SSO, SAML
- PKI Infrastructure, Kerberos
- Managed File Transfer concept and tools (Tibco, File Express)

Requirements
- IT education or advanced training in IT with several years of relevant experience, * Proven experience in a similar role / environment
- 'Run the Bank' knowledge and ability to drive forward operational efficiency and improvement
- Expert knowledge of Windows & Linux Application administration/operation, Scripting (PowerShell) and Web Servers (IIS, Apache)
- Knowledge of Networks and System Security (Hardening, Firewalls, WAF, Load Balancers)
- Strong team player with an ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence amongst peers and colleagues
- Flexible and willing to get involved where required, keen to face new challenges on a daily basis; learning new tools and technologies
- Ability to solve problems independently, efficiently and completely, providing clear updates to management and business users
- Ability of managing small projects
- Solid written and spoken communication skills in English (German is a plus)
