Software Development Engineer

We are looking for a Sr. Software Development Engineer, as part of the Professional Services team, who will be responsible for delivering Premium Calculation Engine Software for the PCE's update on customers. This role reports directly into T&M NL manager.

What You'll Do *Plan, design, develop and test software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products *Expertise in MGA channel. This channel is a system where the insurer has outsourced several processes to an MGA, including acceptance, claims handling and policy administration. *Expertise in developing Premium Calculation Engines (PCE's) for pricing and acceptance rules; in offering a quotation platform for distribution of policies and the VPI platform to link backoffice applications to the PCE's. Enable managing risks and the performance of the MGA portfolio with our data processing services. To work closely together with our customers to jointly create the PCEs and connect them to the workflow systems in the market. *Able to analyse requests and present the best outcome for the delivery of software, working independently, but focused on delivery. *Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, not looking to reinvent the wheel but wider thinking. *Multi-tasking role, with multiple parallel running projects and deliveries, requiring excellent time management and self-organisation. *Keen collaboration across the T&M team and with colleagues in Professional Services and Product

*Key Competencies *5-7 years of experience in software development. *Technical knowledge.

• Primary Requirements: PHP, SQL (MySQL) & Excel

• Desirable: Insurance knowledge *Successfully work with customers to build PCE's, being customer focused. Understanding of insurance industry. Being able to grow the platform by contributing to its development of the platform and continuous improvement *Able to work with a high degree of independence and responsibility . *Experience of delivering solutions on time and to quality standards. **Tools and Skills *GIT, JIRA and Confluence experience *Qualified and experienced in Agile methodologies
