Job description

This section tells you all you need to know about the position and its responsibilities, outlining everything we hope to see in a successful candidate., We are seeking a highly experience Metadata Manager to be responsible for developing and implementing M&S's metadata strategy and tooling. You will work closely with Data Owners & Stewards, Product Manager, Engineers, Analysts and wider business stakeholders to ensure metadata is properly captured, maintained and utilised to support data quality, regulatory compliance and the M&S Data & AI strategy.

Who you are

  • Solid experience in a metadata management, technical data governance or related rolesProven experience designing and implementing metadata management standards and solutionsExperience within implementation of data management strategies and technologiesExperience working collaboratively with other functional teams, from product to technology, finance, risk and legalProven experience designing, starting and implementing large-scale change around data management and cataloguing solutions

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain a metadata strategy aligned to the M&S data management frameworkBuild and manage a central metadata repository in AlationWork with Data Owners, Data Stewards, Product Managers and Platform teams to capture technical, business and operational metadataEstablish and maintain end-to-end data lineage to support impact analysis and risk assessmentDevelop user guides, training and documentation for metadata tools and catalogues
