Job description
- Take ownership of the day to day health and stability of EMW's infrastructure and cloud environments
- Support and maintain core infrastructure including servers, networks, storage and endpoints
- Administer Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune and endpoint management platforms
- Monitor system performance, availability and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues
- Implement system upgrades, patches and configuration changes as and when this is required
- Assist the IT Manager with backup, disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Operate and maintain core cyber security controls including MFA, endpoint protection, patching and privileged access
- Monitor security alerts and suspicious activity, and support incident investigation and response activities
- Perform vulnerability assessments and assist the IT Manager with any pro-active remedial action and support
- Assist the IT Manager with security audits, compliance initiatives and undertaking any risk assessments as and when required
- Maintain security documentation, policies and audit evidence
- Provide guidance and training to all of our people on secure technology use
- Support Cyber Essentials and ISO27001 related activities under the direction of the IT Manager
- Act as a senior escalation point for the IT Helpdesk Supervisor and Analysts
- Coach and support the IT Helpdesk team on infrastructure and security best practice
- Work with third party suppliers and managed service partners to resolve infrastructure and security issues
- Support IT projects including cloud optimisation, network upgrades and system migrations
- Act as technical lead for infrastructure and security workstreams within IT projects
- Contribute to technical design, testing and rollout activities
- Identify opportunities for automation, standardisation and risk reduction
- Keep knowledge up to date on emerging threats and infrastructure best practices
- Any other task that is required by your manager.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Microsoft Outlook?, Do you have a GCSE?, * Strong experience in infrastructure support or systems administration
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune and Windows environments
- Understanding of cyber security fundamentals including MFA, endpoint protection, patching and access control
- Experience of monitoring system performance, availability and capacity
- Good analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery and business continuity processes
- Structured and methodical approach with strong documentation skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- A strong ability to manage projects and multi-task with good prioritisation skills
- Experience working in environments with formal change control and governance processes
- A good team player able to fit into a friendly and busy team
- Ability to work unsupervised and ensuring confidentiality is always maintained
- A full clean UK driving license
DESIRABLE:
- Experience in a professional services or legal environment
- Exposure to Cyber Essentials, ISO27001 or similar security frameworks
- Basic scripting or automation experience, for example PowerShell
- Familiarity with disaster recovery testing and monitoring tools
- Experience supporting cloud optimisation or infrastructure modernisation projects, The successful candidate will be a hands on technical specialist who enjoys taking ownership of infrastructure and security environments. They will be proactive, organised and comfortable working in a regulated, professional services environment.
They will have a strong sense of accountability for system stability and security, combined with the ability to think strategically and contribute to longer term improvements. They will be confident working with both technical teams and non technical stakeholders, and will be motivated by helping the firm move toward a more mature, cloud focused and governance led technology operation.
