Job description
We are Manchester-based with a hybrid model (2 days pw - Mon & Wed). Engineering and Professional Services work closely together. Client feedback directly influences product thinking. Decisions are made quickly and ownership sits with the people doing the work. As the company grows, so does the opportunity to shape how we design, deliver and scale technical solutions. This hire is part of that next phase., You will design and build tailored software solutions for clients on the Engage platform. That means writing code, building integrations, configuring workflows and working directly with stakeholders to ensure what we deliver genuinely solves their operational challenges.
This is a hands-on development role with client exposure. You will spend time in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL and C#, while also leading technical conversations that shape what gets built.

What You'll Own
- Lead technical discovery conversations with clients to understand business goals and operational challenges
- Translate requirements into clear, scalable technical designs
- Build and configure workflows, forms, integrations and custom components
- Develop integrations using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL and C#
- Work with APIs, REST and JSON to connect systems and data
- Manage multiple projects at different stages from early scoping through to go-live
- Troubleshoot calmly and effectively during launches
- Contribute reusable patterns and improve internal delivery standards
This is a hands-on role where technical judgement, communication and ownership matter equally.

- Within your first 6 to 12 months:
- You are confidently running discovery sessions and shaping solution direction
- Your technical designs reduce ambiguity and accelerate delivery
- Client go-lives feel controlled and predictable
- Stakeholders see you as a trusted technical partner
- You introduce improvements that raise the standard of how solutions are delivered
- Longer term, this role has scope to evolve into more senior solution architecture or technical leadership as the team expands.
Requirements
Do you have experience in SaaS?, We are looking for someone who combines technical foundations with curiosity and commercial awareness.
You likely bring:
- Strong commercial experience building web-based solutions or system integrations
- Solid foundations in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SQL
- Experience with an object-oriented language, ideally C#
- Confidence working with APIs, REST and JSON
- A clear understanding of how web applications, workflows and data models fit together
- The ability to move from business problems to practical technical designs
- Comfort operating in a client-facing technical environment
- Strong analytical thinking and structured troubleshooting skills proactive mindset with ownership from discovery through to delivery
- Experience in SaaS, workflow platforms, form builders or similar client-facing technical roles would be beneficial but is not essential., * You want a purely internal development role with no stakeholder interaction
- You prefer highly structured briefs before starting work
- You are uncomfortable managing multiple projects at once
- You want a narrow technical remit without client exposure
- You are not motivated by solving real-world business problems
