Job description

The Data Visualisation Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data at Metro Bank disrupting the market with innovative, insight-led propositions.

You'll build and grow a high-performing BI team, champion a thriving BI community and lead the creation of a modern, trusted and truly data-driven analytics environment. With a bold, curious approach, you'll challenge the status quo, elevate our data capabilities and empower colleagues across the bank to understand their data, make confident decisions and embrace self-service analytics with clarity, simplicity and consistency.

  • Lead, inspire and grow a diverse team of BI professionals, nurturing a culture of curiosity, innovation and high performance
  • Champion modern BI best practice and strengthen a bank-wide Community of Practice to uplift capability
  • Translate complex business needs into clear, insight-led BI solutions that drive real value
  • Shape the evolution of the Power BI platform, ensuring alignment with modern BI trends and the bank's strategic direction
  • Enable smarter decisions by promoting self-service analytics with trusted data, reusable models and robust design standards
  • Oversee the creation of intuitive dashboards and reports that combine excellent UX with strong data storytelling
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency and strong governance across the Power BI estate
  • Monitor platform performance, cost efficiency and usage to provide a smooth, reliable BI experience
  • Act as a trusted BI advisor, providing guidance, issue resolution and hands-on support to teams across the bank
  • Build strong relationships with Microsoft and BI partners to maximise the value of tools, services and emerging capabilities
  • Work collaboratively with data, technical and business teams to deliver seamless, integrated BI solutions
  • Engage stakeholders regularly, presenting compelling insights and building strong relationships to ensure BI delivers meaningful business outcomes
  • Any other duties that reasonably fall within the role

Requirements

Do you have experience in Power BI?, * Expert experience in Power BI, including model design, dashboard development and enterprise-scale governance

  • Strong proficiency in modern BI tooling and visualisation practices
  • Solid understanding of Power Query, data modelling principles and end to end analytics lifecycle processes
  • Proven experience delivering BI projects and shaping BI strategy in a complex organisation
  • Experience developing BI capability across teams or building a BI function from the ground up
  • Familiarity with SQL Server and cloud platforms such as Azure
  • Experience working within cross functional technical and business teams
  • Strong analytical, data storytelling and communication skills
  • Curious, self driven and passionate about business intelligence
  • Practical understanding of data integration, ETL concepts and data warehousing
