The Project Manager - Geospatial & DevOps is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects that integrate Earth Observation (EO), geospatial analytics, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps-enabled software platforms.
This role ensures the successful deployment, scaling, and operational reliability of Origin Orbit® solutions through structured project governance, technical coordination, and DevOps-driven delivery practices. The Project Manager will operate across the full lifecycle-from requirements definition to operational delivery.
A key focus of this role is the delivery of projects within the water industry, both nationally and internationally, addressing critical challenges such as water resource management, climate adaptation, and infrastructure resilience., Project Governance & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end delivery of geospatial, cloud-based, commercial and R&D projects across the Origin Orbit® platform.
- Work with the engineering team to define the scope, work breakdown structures (WBS), timelines, and resource plans across GIS, data engineering, and DevOps teams.
- Manage multiple concurrent workstreams including EO data ingestion, spatial analytics, API development, and infrastructure provisioning to strict project deadlines.
- Establish structured sprints and release schedules aligned with Agile / DevOps methodologies.
- Monitor delivery against milestones, KPIs, and budget constraints.
- Escalation of any impact on project delivery promptly to the senior management team.
Geospatial & Data Pipeline Coordination
- Manage the operational execution of EO data acquisition, preprocessing, spatial analysis and deployment in line with project deadlines and budgets.
- Coordinate Geospatial Engineers and Software Developers to ensure robust geospatial workflows.
- Oversee DevOps deployment across cloud platforms (e.g., Azure), ensuring scalability, security, and resilience.
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Act as primary interface between technical teams and internal/external stakeholders
- Liaise with supply chain partners, technology vendors, and international collaborators.
- Support partner onboarding for Origin Orbit® deployments.
- Contribute to reporting outputs for clients, funding bodies, and executive stakeholders.
HSEQ Responsibilities
- Champion a strong HSEQ culture across all areas of the organisation.
- Support HSEQ risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations where required.
- Promote safe use of geospatial and EO tools, ensuring data privacy, compliance, and ethical standards are maintained.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Project management?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Demonstrated experience in project management of technical or digital infrastructure projects, including planning, scheduling, resource coordination, risk management, and delivery of projects to time and budget, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple workstreams concurrently.
- A Bachelor's, Master's Degree or PhD is preferable
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity of remote sensing technologies, GIS and cloud environments (e.g. Azure) is preferred but not essential.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional technical teams (e.g. GIS, software engineering, data science, DevOps).
- Strong analytical capability with experience interpreting technical performance metrics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Excel and Power BI for reporting and dashboards.
- Confident in holding difficult conversations to protect timelines, quality, and delivery commitments, with the ability to challenge and hold stakeholders accountable when required.
- Consistency and thoroughness in checking and preparing data, as well as in daily tasks, are crucial.
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage dynamic projects.
