Job description

We are seeking skilled and driven Data Centre Technicians to support hardware operations across multiple data centre sites within the Frankfurt am Main metropolitan region. This field-based role involves travelling between several facilities to deliver hands-on technical support across the full lifecycle of data centre hardware.

You will work in a mission-critical environment, supporting deployments, repairs, upgrades, decommissioning, and operational improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Deploy new data centre hardware including servers, storage systems, and networking equipment.
  • Perform physical repairs, troubleshooting, and component-level upgrades.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and connectivity issues with minimal disruption to live services.
  • Support hardware relocations, racking, and reconfiguration tasks.
  • Conduct decommissioning and safe disposal activities following internal standards.
  • Install, test, and maintain structured cabling and network connections.
  • Utilize hardware/software tools and automation workflows for daily operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including asset tracking, configuration updates, and maintenance logs.
  • Participate in 5S, audit readiness, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional technical teams to coordinate changes and minimize downtime.
  • Adhere to all security, safety, and operational protocols within the data centre environment.
  • Participate in incident response and emergency onsite support efforts as required.

Requirements

  • Technical diploma/certification in IT hardware, electronics, or a related field.
  • Experience working in data centres or similar technical environments (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of IT hardware components and basic networking concepts.
  • Ability to follow procedures with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently between multiple sites within the Frankfurt area.
  • Ability to work independently in high-pressure, mission-critical operational settings.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs (occasionally up to 100 lbs).
  • Comfort working in confined spaces, elevated temperatures, and noisy environments.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity for handling small or intricate components.
