Job description

For our Sort Center in Gernsheim close to Frankfurt/Main we are currently looking for an:

Operations Change Manager (all genders)

As a member of the Operations team, we are looking for a Change Manager to drive and accelerate pilot/change initiatives at the site in order to meet the safety, customer experience, quality, sustainability and productivity goals - with an impact that spans across the entire network. In this cross-functional and broad role, you will be actively engaging with the onsite Site leadership, the Regional Sort Support Team, Operations and Area Managers, Local Support Teams and the Central Program Management Teams based out of Luxembourg.

You will act as first point of contact for changes/pilots/trials on site and will be driving and executing on programs for the site based on a strategic roadmap and site-specific requirements, and will be willing to jump in and support the teams with operational tasks during periods of high demand (like Prime Week and PEAK).

To be effective in this role, you need to be a great communicator by proactively bringing all stakeholders to the table and influence through your agility, creativity and resourcefulness. As a successful change agent, you are natural at building and maintaining both formal and informal connections/relationships within your network and you are able to explain complicated topics and convince your audience at various levels of seniority. You will need to earn trust, be resilient and confident at driving/adopting change to break through established routines, remove barriers and ensure changes are embraced. You will utilize business insights and methodical skills to influence teams' understanding of how to adopt changes and be committed to problem solving, getting things done and finding workarounds to not jeopardize deadlines. You will need to build a deep understanding of our operations, while being constantly on the lookout for continuous improvement opportunities.

Your expertise would be sought after and would open up the opportunity to some level of travel (around 10%) within the DE Sort Center network. You are hands-on, agile and have a big picture view and can develop mechanisms to ensure successful implementation. This role will particularly suit someone who is a self-starter, with project/program management and experience/knowledge in operations, capable of driving and adopting initiatives from start to finish and manage multiple programs simultaneously. A predominantly on-site presence is required for this role; however, you will have some working time flexibility as this role is not bound to shift times.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own the strategic pipeline of projects/programs/tools for the site and also local change requests to ensure successful implementation. This would include managing the data collection, coordination, planning, testing, validation, analysis, optimization, roll out/training and trouble-shooting
  • Run the local project management office to track progress, report on ongoing initiatives, monitor and supervise process changes
  • Drive the adoption of best practices and standardization of processes at the site and exchange knowledge within the network
  • Interact and coordinate with multiple stakeholders (regional and local) and present to steering committees to ensure the successful execution of programs
  • Work closely with the site staff and local support teams (Safety, IT, HR, Facility maintenance) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives to ensure deadlines are met
  • Confidently prioritize programs, resources and scope while managing stakeholder expectations
  • Collect and consolidate innovative ideas from site operations and support them in creating business cases
  • Work with large data sets and own operations metrics and communicate them during daily/weekly review meetings
  • Support operations during periods of high demand
