Job description
Working within the Critical Infrastructures Division, you will play a key role in securing new business by providing robust, accurate, and commercially sound estimates for complex M&E projects.You will be responsible for pricing major elements including:
- Electrical systems and critical power infrastructure
- Main items of plant
- Mechanical, electrical and fabric subcontract packages
- Long-lead and specialist equipment
This role requires strong technical understanding, commercial awareness, and the ability to identify both risks and opportunities within tender documentation., * Issuing subcontract and material enquiries
- Attending site visits and liaising with clients and supply chain partners
- Reviewing and scrutinising drawings and specifications
- Carrying out detailed take-offs
- Risk and opportunity identification
- Reviewing subcontractor submissions for technical compliance
- Contributing to value engineering proposals
- Inputting into programme and lead time analysis
- Preparing final tender documentation for director sign-off
- Assisting with formal tender submissions
Requirements
- Proven experience estimating within Electrical / Building Services / Critical Infrastructure
- Experience delivering successful tenders in data centres, comms rooms, or similar environments
- A strong understanding of electrical systems and construction methodologies
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an M&E estimating role or experience estimating in similar roles
- Experience using estimating software (Trimble advantageous)
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical or Building Services (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence
- Security Clearance would be beneficial but is not essential
