Job description
The Head of Data & Analytics is the architect of InvestEngine's data-driven future. You will be accountable for leading and scaling the Analytics function, ensuring the business is consistently supported by "decision-grade" data, metrics, and insight.
This is not a reporting function; it is a strategic leadership role responsible for turning data into measurable business impact. You will act as the bridge between technical foundations and commercial reality, providing the CEO, CFO, and Executive Committee with the insights needed to scale from £2bn to £10bn+. We are looking for a "Scale-up Architect": someone who is a technical genius in applied statistics and modern data stacks, but also a bold strategic partner capable of challenging the status quo with objective truth., * Strategy & Operating Model: Define and own the analytics strategy, covering data foundations, metrics governance, and insight delivery aligned to our 4x growth priorities.
- The Single Source of Truth: Own the evolution of the Data Warehouse. Oversee data models, transformations (dbt), and documentation to ensure data lineage is transparent and auditable.
- MI & Metrics Governance: Own the MI Catalogue, defining calculation logic and escalation thresholds. Establish robust governance to ensure every metric exists to inform a specific business decision.
- Commercial Optimisation: Drive "decision-grade" MI for the CFO and CEO, with a relentless focus on unit economics, LTV modeling, and Return on Advertising Spend (ROAS).
- Analytics Enablement & AI: Lead the strategy for AI-assisted analytics and tooling. Enable safe, scalable self-serve analytics, moving the company from "gut-feel" to data-led.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop our domain-aligned analysts (Marketing, Product, Customer, Commercial). You will have the authority to audit and iterating on our team dynamics. and tech stack to ensure they are fit for purpose.
- Executive Challenge: Act as a strategic counterweight to the executive team, presenting data that validates or invalidates high-priority roadmaps or strategic initiatives., You won't just be executing tickets; you'll shape systems, improve processes, and influence product direction. Requirements
Do you have experience in SQL?, * Scale-up Leadership: Proven experience leading data and analytics through transformational scaling phases, ideally in a regulated Fintech or investment platform.
- Statistical & Technical Rigour: A "technical genius" mindset with deep expertise in applied statistics and modern data stack architecture (dbt, SQL, and ideally Python).
- Commercial Acumen: Strong ability to translate complex data into business decisions, specifically regarding marketing growth data and financial unit economics.
- Governance Mindset: Experience working closely with Compliance and Risk to ensure analytics support regulatory objectives and FCA-ready MI.
- Constructive Challenger: A confident communicator able to influence senior stakeholders and challenge the product roadmap constructively.
- Gold Medal Background: Experience installing a complete analytical infrastructure in a well-known, high-growth environment.
