Joining an established team based at our Merthyr ( South Wales ) facility, you will work across a range of stakeholders that will require close liaison and co-operation with the engineering and integration subject matter experts and the platform, manufacturing & domain expertise residing in the wider GD businesses.
If you were already working in this position, this is what you would have been working on this week:
- Raise and maintain Product Baselines, including Bills of Material (BOM) where applicable, ensuring build standards are defined and repeatable
- Manage the Configuration Change Management process for product designs
- Participate in technical and design reviews to ensure that CM activities are covered in line with the Integrated Project Plan;
- Liaise with and support Partners, Suppliers and the Customer on configuration issues
- Promoting consistent use of PDM (PTC Windchill) and provide support to users
- Conduct Physical Audits at Suppliers to ensure products meet requirements and ensure Product Baseline is established
Requirements
Do you have experience in Pro/ENGINEER?, General Dynamics Land Systems is on the look-out for a fixed-term Configuration Engineer to join our established Team. The successful and inclusive candidate will earn a favourable salary of £36,000 to £45,000 based on experience and potential. This is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow professionally., * Experience of working in an engineering/manufacturing organisation in a configuration role
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both written and orally, with a broad range of people including Lead Engineers, Programme Managers, Customers and Suppliers
- Technical awareness/understanding of engineering applications;
- PDM tool administrator/super-user role experience;
- Experience using Oracle ERP systems
- Knowledge of Computer Aided Design Packages specifically PRO-E
- Experience using Oracle ERP systems Experience of managing engineering change
