Job description
- Designing, building, and maintaining secure and resilient infrastructure across Linux, Windows, hardware, and cloud environments.
- Deploying and maintaining Linux servers using Kickstart, PXE, cloud-init, and configuration management tools.
- Managing Active Directory services and supporting Windows Server estates.
- Implementing and maintaining enterprise hardware solutions including Cisco UCS, HyperFlex, Dell servers, and storage platforms.
- Supporting cloud-based workloads and contributing to cloud architecture design in Azure and AWS.
- Creating automation using Terraform, Ansible, CDK, scripts, and pipelines.
- For senior engineers, opportunities exist to lead technical workstreams, mentor others, and contribute to infrastructure strategy.

This role spans Linux, Windows, hardware, security, cloud technologies, and automation. You will contribute to the design, deployment, support, and improvement of enterprise-grade infrastructure platforms that form the backbone of mission-critical systems.
What Background We Are Looking For
We are looking for candidates with experience across several of the following areas:
Linux & Middleware
- Strong Linux administration skills (Rocky preferred).
- Experience with deployment methods such as Kickstart, PXE, and cloud-init for cloud image builds.
- General Linux skills including shell scripting and automation.
- Server patching, lifecycle management, and performance optimisation.
- Security hardening experience (CIS benchmarks, SELinux, OpenSCAP).
- Familiarity with Puppet/Foreman for configuration management and an interest in migrating to Ansible and cloud-native tooling.
- Experience managing Kubernetes platforms and deploying containerised applications.
- Knowledge of GitLab, Apache NiFi, HashiCorp Vault, Trend Micro Deep Security Manager, Ivanti device control, and Ansible Tower/AWX.
Windows Infrastructure
- Experience with Windows Server administration, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of Active Directory services including DNS, DHCP, Certificate Services, and identity management.
- Experience using MECM and WDS for build, deployment, and configuration management.
Hardware
- Experience installing, managing, and maintaining enterprise server platforms.
- Understanding of Cisco UCS, HyperFlex, and Dell server technologies.
- Storage experience including Dell EMC Unity and Dell PowerVault.
- Exposure to Nutanix Cloud Platform tools such as Prism Central, NKP, NDB, NUS, and Object Store.
Cloud Engineering
- Experience working with Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of Azure VMs, AVD, storage, VNets, Key Vault, Entra ID/AD, Intune, Defender, RBAC, and Functions.
- Understanding of AWS compute, storage, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC, VPN, Direct Connect, IAM, and Organisations.
- Experience using IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Azure Automation (PowerShell/Graph), or AWS CDK.
- Ability to work with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab).
- Scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
- Containerisation and Kubernetes experience is beneficial., Please note: some roles are subject to nationality and export control restrictions.
