Are you passionate about embedded software development and aviation and space? Then this role might be just for you. As part of our software development team, you actively contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of embedded software for use in safety-critical real-time systems and computer networks in aviation and space domains. In this technically exciting function, you will be able to actively improve technical solutions and to participate in projects of tomorrows aircrafts and space vehicles.

Your Tasks

  • Take technical leadership of software sub-projects by complying with applicable standards, safety norms, and using industry best practices
  • Define and plan software work packages in alignment with stakeholders, break-down into tasks
  • Specify and review software requirements
  • Design of software and system architectures
  • Improve technical solutions and work procedures
  • Support software certification/qualification and represent the engineering team towards auditors internally, at customers, authorities or agencies
  • Define, plan and steer software verification
  • Collaborate with other development teams (Hardware/Software) in multi-disciplinary projects
  • Support the creation of user documentation as well as the customer service organization and sales teams with technical expertise

Requirements

  • Technical university degree, preferably with reference to computer science or information technology or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, ideally in safety-critical domains
  • Expertise with RTOSs (e.g. VxWorks, QNX, etc.)
  • Familiarity with computer networks, ideally Ethernet-based, as well as multi-core platforms
  • Solid knowledge of software processes in either aerospace (DO-178C, DO-330) or space (e.g. ECSS-E-ST-40C, NPR 7150.2C) is advantageous
  • Committed team player with the willingness to share knowledge within the team and in parallel contribute to improvements on processes and workflows
  • Lateral leadership skills paired with a solution-oriented way of working
  • Very good command of English language, German skills are beneficial

We provide an attractive and performance-based salary, which is based on your qualifications and professional experience. This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for Employees in the Metal Trade ("Kollektivvertrag für Angestellte Metallgewerbe") and we offer a minimum salary of € 69,000 gross per year. Actual compensation can be well above this standard.
