Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated Application Support Engineer to join the Factory Software team. You will join a small, expert team that supports the operational health of systems that coordinate and facilitate our car manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have a good balance of relationship building skills with users of our system, solving technical problems skills and manufacturing/warehouse systems knowledge. What You'll Do

  • Ability to facilitate delivery of Tesla's manufacturing software systems by resolving day to day issues
  • Understand and improve the end-to-end workflow of Factory Software applications like manufacturing execution and material flow management systems and the other integrating systems
  • Quickly troubleshoot technical problems, document the root cause and the solution
  • Build Software Applications/Tools to address the issues that require immediate solution if a permanent fix is not possible in existing Factory Software applications
  • Document troubleshooting guides to empower your teammates and systems users
  • Work directly with software developers to understand user issues and long-term directions, propose, and provide solutions for recurring problems
  • Setup automation and monitoring systems to optimize utilization of Factory Software
  • Respond to and handle business process change requests that require coordination between cross-functional teams
  • Be nimble and react quickly to changing business conditions

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software development?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering field or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability

  • Working knowledge of querying databases with SQL
  • Experience with Python, Go or other software development languages
  • Must be able to understand integrated systems and their dependencies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, energetic and a self-starter
  • Ability to identify tasks which require automation and develop the tools to address them
  • Proficiency working in a high-impact, responsive, and collaborative team environment - smart but humble, with a bias for action
  • Experience in application support or similar roles
  • Understanding of queues and stream processing is nice to have
  • Work in shifts to support production 24/7 (late shift, night shifts and weekends included)
